A Dhaka court has ordered the freezing of seven bank accounts containing Tk 94 lakh of former Bogura-5 lawmaker Md Habibur Rahman in connection with corruption allegations.
Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Zakir Hossain Galib passed the order, allowing a petition of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
The ACC cited an ongoing probe into allegations of illegal wealth accumulation and expressed concerns that Rahman might attempt to transfer the funds.
