The Bangladesh government has extended the Eid-ul-Fitr holiday for its officials and employees, granting nine consecutive days off from March 28 to April 5.
Initially, a five-day holiday had been announced for the occasion of Eid.
However, on Thursday (March 20), the Advisory Council approved an additional day off, making April 3 a public holiday.
The decision, made during a meeting at the Office of the Chief Advisor, ensures a longer break for government workers. Eid-ul-Fitr, which may be observed on March 31 depending on the moon sighting, is the basis for determining the holiday schedule.
