Bangladesh’s Ambassador to Mexico, M Mushfiqul Fazal (Ansarey), urged Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum to accelerate the establishment of a Mexican Embassy in Dhaka to strengthen diplomatic and economic ties.
He made the plea while presenting his letter of credence to Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum during a ceremony at the National Palace in Mexico City on Wednesday.
During the event, President Sheinbaum expressed Mexico’s commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation and deepening its friendship with Bangladesh.
Ambassador Mushfiqul conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from Chief Adviser Prof. Muhammad Yunus and extended an invitation for the Mexican President to visit Bangladesh.
Reaffirming his dedication to enhancing bilateral ties, the Ambassador highlighted the approaching 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two nations in 2025, viewing it as an opportunity to expand cooperation in trade, culture, and people-to-people exchanges.
President Sheinbaum warmly received the Ambassador and assured him of Mexico’s full support in his diplomatic endeavors.
The ceremony concluded with a tour of the historic National Palace, which serves as the Presidential office and residence.
