The US State Department has commended Bangladesh’s interim government for its efforts to ensure safety and security for minority communities.

During a press briefing, State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce reaffirmed Washington’s commitment to condemning violence and intolerance. 

She also acknowledged steps taken by Bangladeshi authorities to maintain stability following a pro-caliphate rally at Dhaka University.

“We condemn any instances of violence or intolerance directed toward minority communities and have welcomed measures taken by Bangladesh’s interim government to ensure safety and security for all,” Bruce stated.

Her remarks come as the interim government, led by Muhammad Yunus, continues its efforts to uphold law and order in the country.
