The government of Bangladesh has appointed Dr Md Nazmul Islam as the new High Commissioner to the Republic of Maldives.

The Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification confirming his appointment on a contractual basis for a two-year term starting from the date of joining.

According to the notification, Dr Nazmul Islam must renounce any other profession, business, or employment ties with any government, semi-government, private institution, or organisation during his tenure.
