Eid travelers on the Dhaka-Tangail and Dhaka-Mymensingh highways in Gazipur are experiencing a smooth and comfortable journey, with no traffic jams reported so far.
Locals, police, and passengers confirmed that people, mostly workers from Gazipur’s industrial areas, began returning home for the Eid holidays without the usual traffic disruptions.
Every year, the route is notorious for long and frustrating traffic jams, causing significant distress for homebound travelers.
However, this year, the highways have remained clear, providing a hassle-free experience for millions of people heading to their hometowns.
Despite the influx of travelers, both highways have remained free of congestion.
Additional police forces have been deployed at key points to ensure smooth movement and enhance safety.
Historically, the Chandra More area in Kaliakoir upazila has been a hotspot for traffic jams, as passengers from North Bengal begin their journeys.
This year, however, the Chandra More area on the Dhaka-Tangail highway, as well as the Chandra-Nabinagar road, has remained clear, with no significant delays despite the heavy flow of vehicles.
Similarly, there have been no traffic jams reported on the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway, including key points such as Tongi Station Road, Bhogra, Chandana Crossroad, Master Bari in Sripur, and Maona Crossroad. The highway remains clear, allowing travelers to reach their destinations with ease.
Raiz Uddin, Officer-in-Charge of Naojor Highway Police Station, said that despite the usual holiday traffic, the Dhaka-Tangail Highway, including the Chandra More area, has seen no delays. He noted that people have been able to travel with comfort and relief.
Ayub Ali, Officer-in-Charge of Maona Highway Police Station, echoed this sentiment, confirming that the Dhaka-Mymensingh Highway is free from traffic jams.
He expressed hope that the Eid journey would remain smooth and assured the public that police are working diligently to maintain order and ensure the safety of all travelers.
