First Eid jamaat held at Baitul Mukarram

The first jamaat (congregation) of Eid-ul-Fitr prayers was held at the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque in Dhaka at 7:00 am on Monday.

Devotees gathered in large numbers at the historic mosque to mark the holy occasion with devotion and unity.

The prayer was led by Hafez Mufti Maulana Muhibullahil Baki, the Imam of the National Mosque, while Hafez Md. Ataur Rahman, the retired muezzin of the mosque, served as the muqabbir.

Following the prayers, a sermon was delivered, and special supplications were offered, seeking blessings, peace, and prosperity for the nation and the global Muslim community.

Worshippers exchanged greetings and embraced one another, symbolizing brotherhood and joy on this auspicious day.

From the early hours of the morning, devotees from various parts of the capital arrived at the mosque dressed in traditional Eid attire, filling the premises with a festive and spiritual atmosphere.

In addition to the first congregation, four more prayer sessions are scheduled to be held at the mosque throughout the morning, ensuring opportunities for all to participate in the celebrations.

The second congregation will take place at 8:00 am, the third at 9:00 am, the fourth at 10:00 am, and the fifth and final congregation at 10:45 am.

Each session will be led by designated imams, with assistance from mosque custodians.

In the absence of any scheduled imam, Maulana Md. Zakir Hossain, Deputy Director of the Islamic Foundation, will serve as the alternate imam.

The congregational prayers at Baitul Mukarram, a central hub for worshippers in Dhaka, highlight the spiritual essence of Eid-ul-Fitr and the sense of unity and togetherness it brings to the Muslim community.
