Newly-appointed High Commissioner of Pakistan to Bangladesh Imran Haider paid a courtesy call on Cultural Affairs Adviser Mostofa Sarwar Farooki at the ministry office this afternoon.
During the meeting, both sides expressed optimism that the friendly relations between the peoples of the two countries would be further strengthened. They noted that the rich cultural heritage, shared traditions, lifestyle, and literature of Bangladesh and Pakistan could open new avenues of knowledge and mutual understanding.
They also emphasized the importance of enhancing cultural cooperation through exchanges of cultural troupes and television programmes, which would help deepen people-to-people connectivity.
Secretary of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs Md Mofidur Rahman was also present at the meeting.
