A member of the UPDF (Prasit group) was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Matiranga, Khagrachhari. 

The victim, Antin Tripura Subi, 35, was killed on Wednesday (March 19) morning in Taitong Headman Para area.

Antin, son of Basna Tripura from Mayakumar Para, was attacked along with his sister Tarapti, who was reportedly injured in the incident.

UPDF district organizer Angya Marma alleged that their activists were attacked without provocation, blaming the attack on the Santu Larma-led JSS. 

However, no statement was available from the JSS.

Matiranga Police Station Officer-in-Charge Abu Hena Mohammad Mostafa Reza confirmed the matter.

He said they received reports of the incident, but due to the remote location, further details were not yet available. 

Police are preparing to visit the area, he added.
