Rain likely in parts of Bangladesh

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has predicted that light to moderate rain or thunder showers, accompanied by temporary gusty winds, are likely at many places in the country over the next 24 hours, starting from 9:00 am today.

According to a bulletin issued this morning, Rangpur, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions are expected to experience rainfall, while moderately heavy to heavy showers may occur at some places in these divisions.

A few areas in Rajshahi, Dhaka, and Chattogram divisions may also see similar weather, and one or two places in Khulna and Barishal divisions are expected to witness rain and gusty winds.

The meteorological office added that day and night temperatures are likely to remain nearly unchanged across the country. It also noted that the monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate over the North Bay of Bengal.

On Tuesday, the highest temperature of 36.4°C was recorded in Badalgachhi and Chuadanga, while Sylhet recorded the lowest temperature at 24.2°C.

In Dhaka, the sun will set at 6:08 pm today and rise at 5:43 am tomorrow.
