The Ministry of Land has issued the Assistant Commissioner (AC) (Land) Posting Policy 2025, outlining clear provisions regarding disciplinary actions and mandatory training for officials under its jurisdiction.
According to the policy, if any Assistant Commissioner (Land), commonly known as AC (Land), is found involved in irregularities at their workplace or shows negligence or unwillingness in discharging official duties, departmental action will be taken as punishment.
Signed by Senior Secretary of the Land Ministry ASM Saleh Ahmed, the policy was issued on Tuesday (August 5).
It states that, in accordance with Section 11 of the Government Service Act, 2018 (Act No. 57 of 2018) and Rule 4 (ix) (a) of the Rules of Business, 1996, the government has formulated the policy to ensure proper postings of Assistant Commissioners (Land) under the ministry's control.
As per the policy, the general tenure for an Assistant Commissioner (Land) will be two years. Officers will not be posted to their own districts or to districts where their spouse resides.
However, if both husband and wife are employed as officials of the Republic, and one is serving as AC (Land), efforts will be made to post them within the same division, and if possible, within the same district, based on the government's decision.
The policy also specifies that any form of misconduct or unethical behaviour, or negligence in fulfilling government responsibilities, will result in disciplinary measures.
Additionally, the policy makes it mandatory for officials serving as Assistant Commissioners (Land) to undergo Survey and Settlement training.
