The Ministry of Public Administration has instructed all ministries to include passport numbers in government orders (GOs) related to foreign travel of public officials and employees.
In a letter issued on Sunday (July 27), the ministry directed all senior secretaries and secretaries to ensure that passport numbers are clearly mentioned in official travel orders going forward.
The directive comes in response to observations that many government orders for foreign visits do not mention the passport numbers of the concerned officials or employees. As a result, it becomes difficult to determine which passport the individual used for travel.
To address this issue and ensure transparency, the ministry has requested that all future government travel orders must include the passport number of the travelling official or employee.
