The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty winds at many places across the country in the next 24 hours, beginning 9:00 am Thursday.

According to the bulletin, Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Barishal, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions are likely to see widespread showers, while a few areas in Dhaka and Khulna divisions may also experience similar weather. Moderate to heavy rainfall is expected in some places.

The BMD said day temperatures may fall slightly, while night temperatures are likely to remain nearly unchanged. It added that monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate over the North Bay.

On Wednesday, Chuadanga recorded the country’s highest temperature at 36.5 degrees Celsius, while the lowest was 24.5 degrees Celsius in Kutubdia.

In Dhaka, the sun will set at 6:07 pm today and rise at 5:44 am tomorrow.
