Bangladesh High Commission warns against Malaysia

Bangladesh High Commission in Kuala Lumpur has issued a directive warning applicants interested in visiting Malaysia.

High commission has issued a statement in this regard on Friday (August 1).

According to statement, Bangladesh High Commission has come into light that an organised group of fraudsters is collecting passports and money from individuals by luring them with false promises of employment in Malaysia’s Sabah state.

In the statement the High Commission has clarified that there is currently no official agreement or memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the governments of Bangladesh and Malaysia regarding the recruitment of Bangladeshi workers for Sabah.

Additionally, the Sabah state authorities have not granted any official approval to hire Bangladeshi workers at this time, the statement said.

Discussions between the Bangladesh High Commission and relevant Sabah authorities are ongoing, but the mission urged all jobseekers not to engage in any financial transactions or hand over documents to fraudsters in the meantime.

The High Commission further assured that if any official recruitment agreement is signed in the future, verified information will be made available through its official website.
