The National Legal Aid Services Organization (NLASO) has provided free legal advice to 4,79,779 justice seekers across the country from 2009 to April 2025, according to its latest monthly update.

The government body, operating under the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, confirmed that 2,45,157 people received assistance from district legal aid offices and 1,87,369 via the toll-free helpline 16430. 

Moreover, 25,704 people received help from the Supreme Court Legal Aid Office, while 21,549 were assisted by labour law aid cells in Dhaka and Chattogram.

During this period, NLASO also secured over Tk 257 crore in compensation for underprivileged justice seekers and provided legal aid in 4,24,181 cases. 

A total of 2,16,603 cases were disposed of through legal assistance, while 1,27,093 inmates received aid since 2009.
