The Jatiya Nagorik Party (NCP) started a meeting with the National Consensus Commission today (April 19) to discuss key reform proposals put forward by the Reform Commission.
The meeting began at 10:30 am at the LD Hall of the National Parliament and is being chaired by Monir Haider, Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser.
National Consensus Commission Vice-Chairman Ali Riaz and members Dr Badiul Alam Majumdar, Safar Raj Hossain, and Dr Iftekharuzzaman are present.
Representing the NCP are party convener Nahid Islam, member secretary Akhtar Hossain, joint convener Sarwar Tushar, chief organiser Hasnat Abdullah, chief coordinator Nasiruddin Patwari, senior joint convener Samantha Sharmin, senior joint member secretary Nahida Sarwar Niva, and joint convener Javed Russell.
The meeting followed the NCP’s submission of its written feedback to the commission on March 23. At the time, NCP joint convener Sarwar Tushar said that the party fully endorsed 113 out of 166 reform proposals, partially agreed with 29, and disagreed with 22.
