The non-resident Ambassador of Djibouti to Bangladesh, Mr Isse Abdillahi Assoweh, paid a courtesy call on Foreign Secretary Ambassador Asad Alam Siam at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Dhaka on Tuesday afternoon.
Welcoming the Ambassador, the Foreign Secretary expressed satisfaction over the friendly bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Djibouti.
Both sides reiterated their commitment to further strengthen ties through increased cooperation in key areas such as trade, maritime affairs, shipping, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, and people-to-people exchanges.
Ambassador Siam encouraged the Djiboutian envoy to engage with Bangladesh’s business community and relevant authorities to explore potential sectors for collaboration. He also highlighted the scope for technology transfer, particularly in shipbuilding, as a promising area of mutual interest.
Ambassador Assoweh assured the Foreign Secretary of Djibouti’s support in expanding the partnership, especially in trade, economic development, and other priority sectors.
The meeting reflected the two countries’ growing interest in deepening bilateral engagement across multiple fronts.
