A total of 17 wild animals were rescued from the Ghazni Recreation Center Zoo in Jhenaigati upazila last night in a drive conducted by the Forest Department's Wildlife Crime Suppression Unit.
Led by Inspector Nargis Sultana, the operation recovered one python, four forest cats, one civet (locally known as gandhagokul), one hawk, five monkeys, one fox, and four deer.
Assistant Conservator of Forest SB Tanvir Ahmed Emon, District Wildlife and Biodiversity Conservation Officer Suman Kumar, and other department officials were also present during the rescue mission.
