Met office predicts light rain over parts of country

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecasted rain or thundershowers at one or two places in the Sylhet division over the next 24 hours, starting from this morning. 

The showers may be accompanied by temporary gusty or squally winds and hail in isolated areas.

The weather in other parts of the country will stay dry with a partly cloudy sky. 

A low-pressure area is over West Bengal and nearby regions, while another seasonal low is over the South Bay. 

Daytime temperatures will stay mostly the same, but night temperatures may drop a bit.

Mild heat waves are sweeping through the Rajshahi, Pabna, Sirajgonj, Kushtia, and Rangamati districts. 

The highest temperature recorded on Saturday was 37.5°C in Kumarkhali, while the minimum temperature today was 19.0°C in Sylhet. 

The highest rainfall in the last 24 hours was 68 mm in Sylhet.

The sun will set at 6:08 pm today and rise at 6:06 am tomorrow in the capital.
