Bangladesh’s weather office has forecast scattered rainfall across all divisions, including Dhaka, with the possibility of heavy downpours in some areas over the coming days.

Meteorologist Md Tariful Newaz Kabir said that until Sunday (August 31) morning, many areas of Rangpur division and parts of Dhaka, Rajshahi, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions may experience light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by gusty winds.

Some areas in Rangpur could see moderately heavy to heavy rain, he said, adding day and night temperatures are likely to rise slightly nationwide.

For the 24 hours from Sunday morning, rainfall is expected in parts of Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions, with isolated showers possible in Dhaka, Khulna, and Barishal.

Moderate to heavy rainfall may occur in some areas, while temperatures will remain slightly higher.

From Monday (September 1), most areas in Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, and Chattogram, and many areas in Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions are forecast to receive rain or thundershowers with gusty winds.

Heavy rainfall is likely in pockets, and both day and night temperatures are expected to fall slightly.

On Tuesday (September 2), rain is forecast for parts of Rangpur, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, and Sylhet, with scattered showers in Rajshahi, Dhaka, and Mymensingh. Temperatures may rise slightly again.

The extended five-day forecast suggests that the rain trend will continue across much of the country.
