Home Affairs Adviser Lieutenant General (Retd.) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury said there is no security concern centering August 5, on Wednesday (July 30).
Speaking to reporters at the Ministry of Home Affairs at the Secretariat, he said, “If Allah wills, everything will be fine.” His comments come amid ongoing drives reportedly being conducted by law enforcement agencies.
When asked about the nature of the operations, the adviser clarified that the current drive is being carried out by Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) and not across the entire country.
Asked directly whether there is any threat or security risk regarding August 5, he replied, “No, there is no security issue regarding August 5. If Allah wills, everything will be good.”
