Bangladesh received $903.49 million in remittances in the first 10 days of May, according to Bangladesh Bank data released on Monday (May 12).
This marks a daily average of $90.34 million, showing an increase from the previous year’s daily average of $75.16 million in May.
State-owned commercial banks handled $279 million, while the Agriculture Bank processed $98.15 million. Private banks received $533.65 million, and foreign banks facilitated $1.61 million in transfers.
Among individual banks, Islami Bank recorded the highest remittance inflow, totaling $177.14 million.
The steady remittance growth reflects confidence in Bangladesh’s financial system and continued support from expatriates.
