A nine-year-old boy named Abdullah was killed in a tragic road accident this morning at Hirakanda in Pogla union under Kalmakanda upazila, Netrokona.

Md. Firoz Hossain, Officer-in-Charge of Kalmakanda Police Station confirmed the matter. 

The accident occurred around 8:30 AM on the Kalmakanda-Netrokona road when a truck hit Abdullah as he was crossing the road, he added. 

Abdullah, from Anantapur village in Sunamganj’s Madhyanagar upazila, had come to visit his maternal grandfather's house with his mother.

Police have arrested the truck driver, Mahmudul, 25, in connection with the incident.
