Mild heat wave affects seven districts: Met office

A mild heat wave is currently sweeping through seven districts in Bangladesh, including Rajshahi, Pabna, Sirajganj, Khulna, Bagerhat, Patuakhali, and Rangamati, according to the latest weather bulletin from the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD). 

The heat wave is expected to persist in these areas for the time being.

The BMD also forecasts isolated rain or thundershowers, along with occasional lightning and gusty winds, in parts of Dhaka, Mymensingh, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions. 

Elsewhere in the country, the weather is expected to remain generally dry with a partly cloudy sky at times.

Daytime temperatures are likely to increase slightly, while nighttime temperatures are expected to remain largely unchanged across the country.

On Friday, the highest temperature recorded was 38.2°C at Bagabari in Rajshahi Division, while the lowest temperature on Saturday morning was 17.8°C at Dimla in Rangpur Division.

The sunset in the capital today is at 6:16 pm, with tomorrow’s sunrise scheduled for 5:46 am.
