The country will observe a one-minute symbolic ‘blackout’ on March 25 to commemorate Genocide Day.

The nationwide observance will take place from 10:30 pm to 10:31 pm, honoring those killed during ‘Operation Searchlight,’ the brutal military crackdown by Pakistani forces on the night of March 25, 1971.

Essential establishments, including emergency services and key point installations (KPI), will remain exempt from the programme, according to an official statement.
