Chief Adviser (CA) Professor Muhammad Yunus will present the Independence Award 2025 to seven distinguished individuals on Tuesday (March 25).
The award ceremony will take place at Osmani Memorial Auditorium in Dhaka at 10:30 am, according to an official statement.
The government has selected the recipients in recognition of their outstanding contributions at the national level. They include Professor Jamal Nazrul Islam (posthumously) for science and technology, Mir Abdus Shukur Al Mahmud (posthumously) for literature, Novera Ahmed (posthumously) for culture, Sir Fazle Hasan Abed (posthumously) for social service, Mohammad Mahbubul Haque Khan, also known as Azam Khan, (posthumously) for his contributions to the Liberation War and culture, Badruddin Mohammad Umar for education and research, and Abrar Fahad (posthumously) for his role as a young protester.
The interim government has also reinstated the posthumous Independence Award conferred on Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman.
