Dhaka has ranked second on the list of cities with the worst air quality, with an AQI score of 192 at 10:25 AM on Wednesday, classifying the air as "unhealthy."

This level poses a health threat to residents, according to the AQI index.

The city's air quality was worse than Delhi (248), but better than Mumbai (184) and Kathmandu (176), which ranked first, third, and fourth, respectively.

AQI values between 150 and 200 are considered “unhealthy,” while levels over 200 are deemed “very unhealthy” or “hazardous.”

Dhaka continues to face air pollution challenges, especially during winter, with air quality improving during the monsoon.

The World Health Organization (WHO) warns that air pollution contributes to millions of deaths annually, with risks including stroke, heart disease, and respiratory issues.
