The holy month of Ramadan will commence tomorrow as the new crescent moon was sighted in Bangladesh today.
The announcement was made by the National Moon Sighting Committee during a meeting at the Islamic Foundation's Baitul Mukarram office, chaired by Religious Adviser AFM Khalid Hossain.
Moon sightings were reported from Sirajganj, Gaibandha, Narayanganj, and various other districts across the country.
During Ramadan, Muslims fast from dawn to dusk as a time of self-purification, restraint, and austerity.
