Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) have arrested 42 leaders and activists of Ward Awami League, Jubo League, and the banned organization Chhatra League in the last 24 hours.

The arrests were made during raids conducted across different areas of the city from Tuesday (February 25) midnight to Wednesday (February 26) midnight.

CMP's Media and Public Relations Division Sub-Inspector Md Imran Hossain, confirmed the matter.

He said the detainees are accused in multiple cases under the Special Powers Act and the Anti-Terrorism Act, including charges of attacking students and protesters of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement.
