Rain, thundershowers likely in parts of Bangladesh

Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty winds are likely to occur at many places across the country in the next 24 hours, beginning at 9:00 am today, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said in a bulletin.

It said Barishal and Chattogram divisions are expected to see rain or thundershowers at many places, while a few places in Dhaka, Khulna and Sylhet divisions, and one or two places in Rangpur, Rajshahi and Mymensingh divisions, may also experience similar weather. Moderately heavy to heavy falls are likely at places in Barishal and Chattogram divisions.

Day and night temperatures are expected to remain nearly unchanged across the country.

The BMD also said a low-pressure area is likely to form over the North Bay and adjoining areas around September 24, 2025.

On Saturday, the highest temperature was recorded at 36.0 degrees Celsius in Feni, while the lowest was 24.8 degrees Celsius in Tetulia. In Dhaka, the sun will set at 5:56 pm today and rise at 5:48 am tomorrow.
