The government has sent four Deputy Inspectors General (DIG) of the Bangladesh Police into forced retirement in the interest of public service.
The Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs issued separate notifications on Monday (July 28), confirming the decision.
The orders signed by Senior Secretary Nasimul Ghani on behalf of the President have been declared effective immediately.
The four officers are DIG Atika Islam, attached to the DIG Office of Dhaka Range, DIG Md Mahbub Alam, attached to Railway Police, Dhaka, DIG Md Monir Hossain, attached to Industrial Police, and DIG AKM Nahidul Islam, attached to Police Telecom, Dhaka.
According to the official notifications, the retirements were enforced under the provisions of the Government Service Act in the interest of public service. The officers will receive all retirement benefits as per regulations.
