The World Bank has approved $250 million to support Bangladesh in improving public sector performance through transparency, accountability, and efficiency.
The “Strengthening Institutions for Transparency and Accountability (SITA)” project will enhance operations in five key government agencies, including the National Board of Revenue and Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics.
The initiative aims to modernize tax administration, public procurement, and financial oversight, while improving data transparency and public trust in institutions.
According to the World Bank, the project will help digitize services, reduce corruption, and ensure better use of public resources.
