Chief Adviser (CA) Professor Muhammad Yunus today expressed deep sorrow over the tragic crash of a passenger plane in India that was carrying 242 people.
“I am shocked to learn of the tragic crash of an Air India Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner carrying 242 passengers in Ahmedabad. We extend our deepest condolences to all the families who lost their dear ones in this tragic incident,” said the Chief Adviser in a message sent to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He said that their thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families during this difficult time.
“We stand in solidarity with the people and the government of India, and offer our full support in any form,” Prof Yunus said.
According to aviation officials, a London-bound passenger plane crashed on Thursday in the western Indian city of Ahmedabad with 242 people on board. The airline described the incident as a “tragic accident.”
