BSF pushes 20 more into Bangladesh

Indian Border Security Force (BSF) has pushed in 20 people, including women and children, through two separate border points in Dinajpur and Thakurgaon districts on Monday night, according to Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB).

BGB sources said 13 people were pushed in through the Enayetpur border under Biral upazila of Dinajpur.

The group includes two men, two women and nine children. They were later detained by a BGB patrol team of Dinajpur-42 Battalion, said BGB.

On the same night, seven more people were pushed in through the Chanduria border in Pirganj upazila of neighbouring Thakurgaon district. Among them are two men, two women and three children, BGB added.

Later, they were detained by BGB members.

Lieutenant Colonel Abdullah Al Moin Hossain, Commanding Officer of Dinajpur-42 BGB Battalion confirmed the matter.

He said the detained individuals are currently being questioned to confirm whether they are Bangladeshi citizens.

Necessary action will be taken after verification, he added.
