Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty winds are likely over parts of Bangladesh, according to the latest forecast by the Meteorological Department.
In its 24-hour bulletin issued Tuesday morning, the Met Office said rain is expected at a few places in Chattogram and Sylhet divisions, and at one or two places in Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, and Barishal divisions.
Elsewhere in the country, the weather is expected to remain mainly dry with temporarily partly cloudy skies.
A mild heat wave is currently sweeping across Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, and Khulna divisions, as well as Faridpur, Madaripur, Tangail, Chandpur, Feni, and Patuakhali districts, and may persist in the coming days, said meteorologist Dr. Md. Omar Faruq.
Both day and night temperatures are likely to remain nearly unchanged across the country during this period.
In Dhaka, the sun will set at 6:46 pm today and rise at 5:10 am tomorrow.
