Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by lightning and temporary gusty winds are likely in parts of the country over the next 24 hours, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said on Monday (June 9).
According to the latest bulletin issued at 9:00 am, a few areas in Chattogram division may experience rainfall, while one or two places in Barishal, Dhaka, and Sylhet divisions could also see light showers or thundershowers.
Elsewhere, weather is expected to remain mostly dry, with partly cloudy skies in some regions.
Meanwhile, a mild heatwave is currently sweeping across Rajshahi, Rangpur, and Khulna divisions, as well as the Feni and Mymensingh districts, and is likely to persist.
"We expect a slight rise in both day and night temperatures across the country during this period," said Md Shaheenul Islam, a meteorologist at the BMD.
In the capital Dhaka, sunset is expected at 6:45 pm today, and sunrise at 5:10 am tomorrow.
