Four people, including two brothers, were killed and another injured in two separate road accidents in Moulvibazar on Eid day.
The first accident occurred around 10:00pm on Saturday (June 7) at Kachari Bazar in Shamerkona area of Moulvibazar Sadar upazila.
According sources, two motorcycles collided head-on on the Moulvibazar–Shamshernagar road, killing Jubed Mia, 28, and Kamrul Mia, 30, on the spot.
The deceased Jubed was from Shamerkona village in Sadar upazila, while Kamrul was from Chandipur village in Kamalganj upazila.
In this incident, a person name Mahbub Mia, 35, was seriously injured and was first taken to Moulvibazar Sadar Hospital and later transferred to Osmani Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment.
Dr Ahmed Faisal Zaman, Residential Medical Officer at Moulvibazar Sadar Hospital, confirmed the matter.
On the other hand, another road accident in front of Kathaltoli Technical Training Center in Barlekha upazila claimed two lives.
The deceased were identified as Sahed Hossain Sumon, 26, and Rumon Ahmed, 22—died after their motorcycle collided head-on with a private car. They were two brothers and sons of Alauddin Mia of Mohubond village in Barlekha municipality.
Barlekha Police Station Officer-in-Charge Abul Kashem Sarkar confirmed the matter.
According to family members, the deceased were heading to his in-laws’ house in Dakshinbhag with beef on his motorcycle when the accident happened.
After the incident Shahed died on sport, while his brother Rumon, succumbed to injury around 9:30pm at Osmani Medical College Hospital.
