Dhaka cleared of sacrificial waste in less than 12hr: LGRD Adviser

Local Government, Rural Development and Co-operatives Adviser Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain said that Dhaka city was cleared of all sacrificial animal waste within 12 hours following Eid-ul-Azha, crediting the achievement to coordinated efforts and public cooperation.

In a Facebook post on Saturday night (June 7), the adviser praised the Dhaka North and South City Corporations for conducting an extensive and efficient cleanliness operation across the capital.

“This is not just a reflection of efficiency and competence, but a testament to the responsibility and swift action of the local government, committed to public welfare,” he wrote.

He also acknowledged the critical role played by cleaning staff, calling them the “unsung heroes” behind the effort. “They may not be in the spotlight, but their work defines the city,” he added.

Mahmud expressed his gratitude to all officials and workers involved in the post-Eid clean-up campaign and thanked residents for their sense of civic duty. “A clean city is not just a goal—it’s a daily responsibility,” he said.

He also mentioned that Eid-ul-Azha cleanliness drives were completed successfully in city corporations across the country, underlining the broader national effort to maintain hygiene and public health.
