Nation cannot be built neglecting police: CA

Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus said that a nation cannot be built by neglecting the police force.

He made the remark during a meeting with senior police officers at his office in Tejgaon, Dhaka, on Monday (March 17).

According to the press wing of the Chief Adviser’s office, Yunus addressed the law and order situation, providing directions to the field-level police officers.

Chief Adviser said that without the rule of law, there will be no government, democracy, or citizen rights.

He said a country cannot progress if the members of the police are neglected. If the law is properly enforced and discipline is maintained, victory in all challenges is possible.

Highlighting the limited time left for the interim government, Yunus reminded that seven months have already passed, and elections are scheduled for December. He emphasized that necessary reforms must be completed before the elections and cannot be delayed.

The Chief Adviser also instructed the police force to remain strong during the election period, as pressure is expected.

The meeting was also attended by Home Adviser Mohammad Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, Home Secretary Nasimul Gani, and Inspector General of Police (IGP) Baharul Alam. Field officers, including DIG Ahsan Habib Palash of Chattogram Range and Rajshahi Police Superintendent Farzana Islam, also spoke at the meeting.
