The Saudi government has set the minimum age for performing Hajj at 15 years for the 2025 pilgrimage season.
Bangladesh’s Ministry of Religious Affairs announced the decision on Wednesday, citing a notification from Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.
The statement said the age restriction was set considering the health and safety of children. The age will be determined based on the birth date in the passport.
Registered Hajj pilgrims, agencies, banks, and all relevant stakeholders have been asked to take necessary measures regarding this regulation.
If a registered child pilgrim is unable to travel, a pre-registered substitute may be arranged in their place, along with their accompanying guardian, where applicable.
