The Russian House in Dhaka organized a Soviet film festival designed to introduce Bangladeshi audiences to Russia's rich cinematographic heritage.
The event organised on Thursday (July 24) combined film screenings, thematic exhibitions and a cultural program.
The festival featured screenings of classic Soviet films that not only showcased the mastery of Russian directors and actors but also provided deeper insight into Russia's history and traditions. Special emphasis was placed on films reflecting universal values and timeless themes of friendship, love and heroism.
Following the screenings, guests had the opportunity to view a photo exhibition dedicated to the history of Soviet cinema and discuss the films during a buffet reception. This provided an excellent opportunity for cultural exchange and establishing new friendships.
The event was attended by members of the diplomatic corps, government officials, professors and students from leading Bangladeshi universities, as well as numerous film enthusiasts. The festival became a significant event in Dhaka's cultural life and received widespread positive feedback from attendees.
