A man was killed after a bus hit his motorcycle in front of the regional passport office on the Khulna–Bagerhat highway this morning.

The deceased was identified as Md Shamim Talukder, 30, son of Moti Talukder of Kadamtala village in Sharankhola upazila.

According to police quoting locals, Shamim was on his way to the city on a motorcycle when a bus coming from Dhaka hit him from behind around 11:30 am, leaving him critically injured.

He was rushed to the Bagerhat 250-Bed Hospital, where doctors declared him dead upon arrival.

Md Mahmud-ul Hasan, Officer-in-Charge of Bagerhat Model Police Station, said police seized the bus, but its driver and helpers managed to flee the scene.
