The government has appointed Md Sarwar Alam as the new Deputy Commissioner (DC) and District Magistrate of Sylhet, replacing Mohammad Sher Mahbub Murad, who has been withdrawn from the post.
According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Public Administration on Monday (August 18), Murad has been made an Officer on Special Duty (OSD) at the ministry.
Sarwar Alam, who had been serving as a deputy secretary attached to the Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment, will now take charge as the administrative head of Sylhet district.
A member of the 27th batch of the Bangladesh Civil Service (Administration Cadre), he joined government service in November 2008.
