Pakistan FM Ishaq Dar due in Bangladesh August 23

Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar is scheduled to arrive in Dhaka on a two-day official visit beginning August 23.

This will mark the first visit to Bangladesh by a Pakistani foreign minister since 2012.

During the visit, Ishaq Dar will meet with Bangladesh’s Foreign Affairs Adviser Touhid Hossain on the second day of the trip, August 24, according to diplomatic sources.

Earlier, Pakistan’s Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch visited Dhaka on 16–17 April. A foreign secretary-level meeting between the two countries was held during her visit, where discussions reportedly focused on bilateral relations and preparations for the ministerial trip.

Later, on 27–28 April Dar was scheduled to visit Dhaka, but the trip was postponed due to tensions escalated between Pakistan and India over the Kashmir issue.

With tensions now easing, a fresh itinerary for the visit has been confirmed.
