A case against 400 people has been filed under the Anti-Terrorism Act over Wednesday’s violence centering a rally of the Nationalist Citizens’ Party (NCP) in Gopalganj.
Earlier on July 16, Awami League supporters and the now-banned Chhatra League allegedly attacked on NCP people visited during “March to Gopalganj” rally and conducted massacre in rally area including vandalising police, UNO car.

Gopalganj Sadar Police Station filed the case on Friday morning (July 18), naming 75 individuals and listing 325 others as unidentified accused.
Officer-in-Charge Mir Sajedur Rahman confirmed the matter.
At least 50 people allegedly involved in the violence have already been arrested, he said, underscoring that multiple teams are working to identify and detain more suspects.
The case was filed two days after the incident, with law enforcement citing serious breaches of public safety and order under anti-terrorism provisions.
