The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall in five divisions over the next 24 hours starting from 10am today.

According to a warning issued by the Storm Warning Centre on Thursday morning, due to an active southwest monsoon, heavy rain measuring 44-88mm in 2-4 hours or more than 88mm in 24 hours is likely at places in Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, and Chattogram divisions.

The Met office also warned that due to very heavy rainfall, landslides may occur in the hilly areas of Chattogram division.
