Iran launched missile strikes on several locations across Israel, including the cities of Haifa and Tel Aviv, killing at least 10 people, according to medics and media reports.
The attacks came in response to Israeli airstrikes that targeted civilian and energy infrastructure in Iran, including a strike that caused a fire at the Shahran oil facility in Tehran. The Israeli military said it hit sites linked to “the Iranian regime’s nuclear weapons project.”
Iranian media reported that Israeli attacks over the past two days have killed at least 80 people and wounded 800 others. Among the dead are 20 children.
U.S. President Donald Trump said he and Russian President Vladimir Putin agree that the escalating conflict between Israel and Iran must come to an end.
In reaction to the Israeli attacks, Iran has cancelled the sixth round of nuclear talks with the United States. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said there is no justification for continuing talks amid ongoing Israeli aggression.
