Tarique Rahman, BNP's acting chairman, gifted a pen and Greta Thunberg’s book “No One Is Too Small to Make a Difference” to Interim Government Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus during their high-profile meeting at London’s Dorchester Hotel on Friday.
The closed-door meeting began at 2:00pm Bangladesh time. While no official statement was released, political insiders say discussions likely covered Bangladesh’s current political climate, the upcoming election timeline, governance reforms, and the proposed July Charter.
Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam said the meeting had no fixed agenda but was expected given Rahman’s political position.
This marks the first in-person meeting between Yunus and Rahman since the interim government assumed power in August 2024.
