Authorities at the historic Pagla Mosque in Kishoreganj collected 28 sacks of cash from 11 donation boxes on Saturday morning, after four months and 12 days since the last count.
The boxes were opened around 7:00 am in the presence of Kishoreganj Deputy Commissioner and Mosque Management Committee President Fouzia Khan, and Superintendent of Police Mohammad Hasan Chowdhury.
The collected money was then taken to the mosque’s second floor for counting.
Nearly 400 people, including committee members, madrasa teachers, and students, took part in the process.
Fouzia Khan confirmed the mosque’s bank account now holds Tk80.75 crore.
Earlier, on November 30, 2024, Tk8.21 crore was collected. This time too, foreign currencies and gold ornaments were found along with local currency.
