Rain, lightning likely in parts of Bangladesh: Met office

Rain or thundershowers accompanied by lightning and temporary gusty winds are likely to hit several parts of Bangladesh over the next 24 hours, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said today (April 12).

In a statement issued this morning, the Met office said showers with lightning and gusty winds may occur at a few places in Rangpur and Sylhet divisions.

One or two places in Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Khulna, and Dhaka divisions may also experience similar weather.

Elsewhere across the country, conditions are expected to remain mostly dry with partly cloudy skies.

Day and night temperatures are likely to remain nearly unchanged, according to the forecast.

The highest temperature in the country on Friday was recorded at 35.5°C in Chuadanga and Sandwip, while the lowest, at 20°C, was reported in Tetulia on Saturday morning.

In Dhaka, the sun will set at 6:19 pm today and rise at 5:39 am tomorrow (April 13).
